This mid-sized broker came to DRCG on referral when they needed to move from Grosvenor Place. The owner is a modern art enthusiast who wanted to display some of his collection in the new office. We needed to perform significant structural changes to meet the challenges of this growing business and create the warm but minimalist, gallery style area as requested in the brief.

Consultancy

Our Space Consultant and Interior Designer worked with the client to achieve a functional workspace which had the desired look and the flexibility to allow business growth. A selection of artworks was incorporated against a largely monochrome design in the trading floor that allowed the colours to pop. Bespoke glazed and solid partitioning, plush carpets and specialist floor finishes were installed to enhance the effect. The stylish reception area was given a custom desk with illuminated translucent glass and was completed with an art installation from the CEO’s collection.

Technology

DRCG’s trading floor technology consultancy is unique amongst design and fit-out companies. We advised the client on voice and data systems which we installed once the bespoke desking was in place. We project managed the design and build of a comms room and installed uninterruptible power supplies (UPS). Our mechanical and electrical specialists also installed supplementary air-conditioning, biometric access control and wider security systems.

Furniture

Bespoke furniture can make a bold statement, but it must also be fully functional for users and IT administrators as well as being consistent with the space plan. We designed and installed a custom reception desk and managed the manufacture, delivery and installation of Ultra dealing desks from Wall Street Trading Desks which were fitted with our exclusive flat screen arms.

The completed workspace was consistently sleek with an integrated combination of matt and reflective finishes. Careful use of materials, colour, layout and furniture created a warm ambience and a sense of spaciousness in a relatively small area.
